This must be an ordinary or regular passport, not an official or diplomatic passport, a refugee passport, or any other type of travel document, according to the Indian Visa Passport Requirements. Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the date of your admission into India before uploading a copy. The following are the pre-conditions of applying for an Indian Online Visa (eVisa India).

  • Passport validity for 6 months. The date on which you land in India, from that date, your passport should be valid for 6 months.  

  • Proof of funds. Indian Government or Immigration Officers at the border may ask you for proof of sufficient funds during your stay in India. You could be denied entry if you are unable to provide this proof.

  • Photograph of your face.

  • Photo or Scan Copy of your Passport

  • A reference in India and a reference to your home country

  • A valid email address

  • A payment method like Paypal, debit card, or credit card.

If your passport does not meet the India Visa Passport Validity requirement of at least six months from the date of entry into India, you must renew it before submitting your application. You should also make sure your passport has two blank pages that are not visible online but are required by border authorities at the airport to stamp entry/exit.

If you already have a valid Indian e-Visa but your Passport has expired, you can apply for a new Passport and travel with both the old and new Passports. You can also use the new Passport to apply for a new Indian Visa (e-Visa India).
